The Invention of Hugo Cabret

Shill time, party people! For anyone who has a kid (or a kid inside) interested in art, drawing, animation, or animation, here is an picture-novel (only thing I can think to call it) by the apparent genius Brian Selznick. Discovered while seeing a man about a horse at a friend's house, this is a great look-read for anyone ages 8 to 80. The publisher recommends ages 9-12, so you know that it put's this book right in my wheelhouse.

Normally I would try and describe the book, but I can't really. Okay, let's try: It's a cinematic picture book, where at least half the story of a child, a father, and a famous filmmaker is told through what can only be described as highly detailed storyboards.

I'm only finding this book 4 years after publication...I'm a slow reader.

had a very intense dream about sharpening ticonderoga #2 pencils last night in an electric sharpener. interpretations anyone? especially strange, because i've only really ever used #1 ticonderogas.
